I started dabbling with Boom Cards a couple years ago with some of my students but once distance learning hit, I fell in LOVE! š
What are Boom Cards?
Boom Cards are digital, self-checking task cards that give your students instant feedback!
š» Digital
When you assign a Boom Cards deck, you can attach the link to just about any platform including Google classroom, Seesaw, Class Dojo, and Microsoft Teams. This makes it perfect for distant learning and/or homework!!!
āļø Self Checking
When a student submits their answer for a card, they are told instantly whether they are right or wrong. They can choose to try again or give up.
š Reports
I love the reports because it holds students accountable. When you look at the reports, you can see student progress, student mastery, the number of times, they have completed it, and the time it took them to complete it. The reports are very teacher and student friendly. If you want to take a deeper look, you can look at the cards your student got wrong.
Here is a quick and easy video for viewing reports.
š± Previews -
You can preview 4 cards of every deck. Check it out!
š¤ Differentiate
You can assign decks to the whole class or individual students. For example, if you have a group of students who have not passed their x6 multiplication facts, you can assign the deck to that group and expect them to keep working on it until they reach mastery. The rest of the class can continue working on their division (or whatever).
š Membership Levels -
You can try it for free. There are 4 membership levels. The decks cost between $1.50 and $4.00, but there are a lot of good free ones too.
1. Starter level - free for up to 5 students. You won't get reports, but it's a great way to test it out.
2. Basic - $15 a year - up to 50 kids, includes reports
3. Power - $25 a year - up to 150 students, includes reports and live monitoring
4. Ultimate - $35 a year - up to 200 students, includes reports, live monitoring, and seller rights.
